Adam Storke will play the role of Dale Hammett, one of 3 brothers caught up in a range war in Wyoming in 1891. Filmed in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Also stars Tom Berenger, Luke Perry, Burt Reynolds, Rachel Ward. To be screened on the Hallmark Channel in the US and is 240 minutes long.
The year is 1891. Wyoming is in its first year of statehood. The three Hammett brothers, Cain (Oscar & Emmy-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Tom Berenger, Platoon ), Harry (Luke Perry, Beverly Hills, 90210 ) and Dale (Adam Storke, Lifepod ), find themselves in the middle of a rapidly escalating range war that pits old time cattle barons against homesteaders who have moved onto the grazing lands.
The cattle barons call themselves the "Cheyenne Social Club" and, urged on by Lord Peter (Christopher Cazenove, A Knights Tale ), an English nobleman with extensive holdings, they commission a hired gun, Hunt Lawton (Oscar-nominee & Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Burt Reynolds, Hard Time ), as Marshal. He's given instructions to drive the small holders out through fear and intimidation&ldots; but the Hammett brothers, each for his own reasons, choose not to run.
Harry Hammett, a part time cattle rustler is actually in league with Lord Peter's ranch foreman, selling off the Lord's cattle and splitting the take. He's determined to straddle the fence. Dale Hammett is a sheep man and a family man, determined to remain neutral amidst the escalating violence. He will die in an ambush as Hunt Lawson escalates the violence. Cain Hammett, a reformed gunfighter finds himself becoming the de facto leader of the small ranchers who refuse to capitulate and move on.
The cattle barons, fed up with the lack of results in their effort to intimidate the opposition, decide to declare all out war and import two dozen Texas gunmen to lead the assault, first on the ranch of Cain Hammett, then on the small town of Antelope.
Harry Hammett is finally forced to choose sides. He chooses family and gathers a posse of small ranchers and townspeople to help rescue Cain from the hired mercenaries and cattlemen who have his small cabin surrounded.
Cain's fight is a highlight of the Johnson County range wars, brought to life in Hallmark Entertainment's action-packed television movie, based on best-selling author Frederick Manfred's novel "Riders of Judgment."
